Reading is cool

but im not gonna sit here and act like its all i care about i mean come on lets be real here

I loved to read as a child. I stopped caring about reading probably in high school, and then in college i read sooooo much. then i stopped reading about 2 years after college, and now i read again.
I think that reading on the train is the absolute best pasttime. I used to play Bejeweled on my phone, and I still do, but I recently rediscovered the beauty of reading on the train. filling your mind with beautiful stories, insights and concerns of the world around us as we are whisked away en masse to our destinations. How beautiful and romantic. The seduction of the person next to you on the train, restraining themselves from taking a peek and reading alongside you.
it takes longer to read something than it takes to watch something. It (usually) takes longer to read a chapter than it does to listen to a song. In that regard, the sensation of time on a long train ride feels like an easier passage, versus if you were to listen to multiple songs or watch many short-form videos online. a 20 minute train ride is a chapter, sometimes less, sometimes more.
